Tuscany: Combining the harmony of nature with culture and lifestyle

Tuscany – the region in central Italy, where hilly landscapes meet dream-like nature spoiled by sun, is considered one of the most beautiful and livable places in the world with Florence as its charming capital. Tuscany comprises a total of ten provinces, bordered to the west by the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian Seas and to a mountain range of the Apennines in the north and northeast.

The Tuscan north: Real treasures between gentle hills

The precious marble from the northernmost Tuscany municipality of Massa-Carrara is not the only riches to be found in the hilly landscape of the region. The picturesque cities of Pistoia and Prato, located in the provinces of the same name, are unique treasures of Tuscany because of their architecture and beauty. Also, the maritime seaside resorts in north-western Lucca show the diversity of the region and numerous ‚Art Nouveau villas‘, such as those on the promenades of the Riviera Versilia – they are proof of the irresistible attraction of the land in the past.

Here beats the heart of Tuscany

Hardly any other city represents Tuscany more than the centrally located metropolis of Florence. Worldwide the pulsating center of the region is looking for its equal in terms of architecture and lifestyle. But also, the neighboring provinces captivate with incomparable natural conditions and sights behind almost every corner. Both Arezzo in the east and the surrounding area of Pisa as its western neighbor are characterized by scenic landscapes with local fauna. Charming areas with almost unspoiled and untouched nature, small idyllic villages and secluded farmhouses alternate with more lively places where you can taste the main export products of Tuscany directly from the producer: Best regional olive oil, pecorino cheese, spicy salami and of course the wide range of excellent wine. But no matter where you are, you will always need little time and short distances to admire cultural monuments, splendid palazzi with frescoes, impressive churches and cathedrals as well as historical squares and monasteries. Sea lovers and island fans get their money’s worth even further west.

From Siena to Grosseto: variety as far as the eye can see

If you are drawn into the pulsating city life of the densely populated province and its capital Siena, you will find yourself heading south, gradually becoming calmer and more idyllic. The 160-kilometer-long Maremma coast on the Tyrrhenian Sea in the region of Grosseto offers a contrast to what is probably the most beautiful city in Italy. Piazza del Campo and Basilica di San Domenico swap places here with romantic fishing villages and pine forests. Beautiful sandy beaches flow into small rocky coasts, behind which small bays reveal themselves. Domiciles with sea view do not belong in vain to the most desired real estates in the Toscana.

Strand auf der Insel Elba

Elba: The many faces of Tuscany’s largest island

Elba is the largest Tuscan island in the Tuscan Archipelago National Park. The island is connected to the mainland by ferry. Napoleon’s exile fascinates above all by its multifaceted nature. Steep white cliffs along the coastal strips contrast with rare flora and fauna, fragrant rosemary bushes, oleander and agaves. Discover enchanted coastal villages, picturesque towns and traditional fishing ports.
